The ever successful competition barbeque team of Ques Your Daddy
has been competing in the
U.S. since 2007. Also hailing from scenic Southern Illinois, USA;
Doc Richardson, Pitmaster and Chief Cook, started the team after winning
1st place in a local rib competition his first time out of the gate!
From that time on…it was game on!
In 2007-2010, the crew cooked under the team name of Que’s Your Daddy and consisted
of Doc and Susan Richardson, along with their family. In 2010, Doc and Susan
decided to go it alone and streamlined the process.
While 2007, yielded a 1st place chicken in the first
and only KCBS sanctioned event they cooked that year, 2008
proved to be an even better run. However, 2009 turned out to be a banner
year…received their first Reserve Grand Champion and their first Grand Champion
award that qualified them to compete in the American Royal Invitational (the
super bowl of BBQ), finishing with 8th place ribs against a field of
119 Grand Champions from across the country. At the American Royal Open in 2009,
Que’s Your Daddy finished with an impressive 3rd place in Pork in a
field of 473 teams. In 2010, Que’s Your Daddy had 37 Top 10 finishes and ended
the year with KCBS standings of 54th place pork, a 48th
place ribs and 34th place in brisket, which places them in the top ½%
of competition teams in the country.
